Primary Purpose:

 

Provide clerical support for all aspects of the district's special education program. Give general clerical support for the efficient operation of the central administration office and assist central office administration in processes and procedures that ensure compliance with all state, federal, and local requirements. Receive visitors to the central administration building and respond to inquiries from staff, students, parents, and the public. Assist with the preparation of documentation for the district's annual fiscal audit and periodic special education audit. 

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Certification

 

Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred

 

Special Knowledge/Skills

 

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of federal and state special education/504 law

Understanding of the needs of special education/504 students

Commitment to the utmost confidentiality of student and staff information

Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records

General knowledge of procurement, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes

Knowledge of Ascender software preferred

Ability to utilize online special education platforms to maintain special education/504 compliance

 

Experience

 

More than two years of working experience with special education records preferred

More than two years of working experience as an administrative assistant/receptionist preferred
